After 3 Years Of Research, a Former Student in Communication Shows You Why Web 2.0 Is Not What We Think !

Before I tell you what I found after sleepless nights of work, I must ask you: What Is The Web?

The web 2.0 is the revolution given by a ray of light that the world knew how to exploit.
The Web is the whole of the data connected by hypertext links, on Internet. It develops in the second half of the XX century, but we see its triggering from 1990 with the Internet revolution; when the world begins to have access to the web thanks to the HTML coding, which facilitates the navigation for the users thanks to the links.
First of all, data is a set of coded information, more simply, messages exist on a virtual level, the net, waiting to be transmitted.

It May Sound Silly But What Is A Message ?

The peculiarity of a message, of an information, is its transmissibility. If a message is not transmissible, it is useless. So the basis of conception of the web was the transmission of messages over long distances, always accessible. Web 2.0 is the revolution with which the exploitation of the message in the web has changed. The web has become not only a simple technology that allows access to a world of information, but also a kind of interactive communication that allows to access the content of the web, the messages, and to become a creator too. The creation that for decades was an exclusivity of technicians and professionals, has become available to all.

With the interaction that is avenue between the content and the public, the meaning of communication has changed by expanding the scope of the information. The web 2.0 with its flexibility and adaptation to the creative and evolutionary contexts has given space to a new conception of the communication, to the point that the life and the concept of existence have changed in a deep and very remarkable way.

If Tinder and OnlyFans are here it’s because of him

The web revolution and the innovations it has enabled have given the chance of creation, not only of content and creation between the producer and the consumer so that the consumer has also become a “Creator” with power and voice, but has also given the possibility to revolutionize the system of networking and cabling at the hardware level, and has allowed the appearance of new types of software with revolutionary software, which have further widened the field of interaction and facilitated access, such as Apps. The access to the net world has been facilitated by the Apps and the mobile network subscription system, which have given life to the “always connected” lifestyle.

These means, in the hands of the consumer have seen a new era of interaction that today is not left to itself, but is the subject of studies and strategies. Thus, interactive content is more effective than simple content and gives superior results by revealing also, with the level of success of a communication campaign, market research, public opinion, reputation of the product / service etc..

The interactive function of the web has made it possible for companies, activities and brands, as well as public figures, to enter into the “always” of the consumer through the various supports and means that surround him. The level of communication has surpassed the simple advertising, or sale of the product/service by direct way, bringing into play, for example, the influences that are born from the new conception of doing marketing.

Have you noticed how websites have changed in a few years?

Also, the approach to the web site has changed with the adaptation of the site and the sets of pages to the consumer’s habits. Browser systems, which are at the base of the web revolution, are the promoters of the communication strategy since browsers are the main actors of the web pages display. The functioning of this software is related to the choice of the consumers. The algorithms, by means of the browsers, have been set up with a system of revealing the choices and preferences of the consumers one by one, either thanks to the conditions of use, or thanks to the habits of the target registered in the history of the search engines. Moreover, thanks to the keywords inserted by the consumer, it becomes even easier for the search engines to find, thanks to the servers, the track of the consumers’ tastes, and to give a precise set of information for the marketing studies and the communication strategies through Tools, specialized programs of studies of consumer habits, like Google Analytics.

In fact, search engines are at the base of the development of Web 2.0 and of the communication revolution as we understand it today. These engines, of which the most important and well-known is Google, have become instruments in the hands of professionals who want to study the market and deepen the habits of consumers.

First of all, the Internet world of the XXI century has allowed the development of new professional figures related to the functions and developments of the web structures and its instruments. For example, we can start with the formal computer technicians, to arrive at the SEO and SEA figures, or the Social Media Manager, who have been able to develop web 2.0 training and jobs.

The other side of the coin, the darker side of the web revolution, is the fact that in the last few years, there has been a large amount of information circulating in such a way that it has become complicated and critical for the vast majority of companies and activities to be found on the net. That’s why SEO plays a great role in communication. This professional figure represented by the SMO, Search Engine Marketing, which includes all the areas of competence of the professional dedicated to SEO of companies, is responsible for “building” the online presence. With the knowledge he has and is able to gather from the web, he can direct clients to their communication potential and make them visible in search engines.

You can tell me, but Ms. Student how web 2.0 has changed communication?

Finally, we can say that web 2.0 has radically changed the concept of “communication” adding the concept of interaction. Obviously there are positive and negative sides, but in terms of message and communication, it is sure that the change has brought many good innovations and has given voice to a multitude of value characters that with the old system, we would not have had the chance to be heard. People identify with today’s communication style. Creating a message is no longer just about writing a well-crafted slogan or designing an original poster, a message has become a lifestyle, a kind of storytelling that walks alongside individuals and represents them.

Superb blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
Any recommendations? Cheers!
